Shimano Vanford Spinning Reel

The Shimano Vanford spinning reel represents a pinnacle of lightweight design and responsive performance, engineered for anglers who demand exceptional sensitivity and control across diverse fishing environments. Building on the legacy of the popular Stradic CI4+, the Vanford is a premium choice for finesse applications and general lure fishing, excelling in everything from targeting elusive trout in freshwater rivers to pursuing snapper, kahawai, and kingfish in New Zealand's coastal waters.

This advanced reel integrates Shimano's core technologies to deliver an unparalleled angling experience. At its heart, the HAGANE Gear ensures robust durability and smooth operation, while the Magnum Light (MGL) Rotor significantly reduces inertia for precise lure manipulation. The CI4+ body and rotor provide a lightweight yet rigid frame, safeguarding internal components and maintaining consistent performance. Enhanced with X-Protect, the Vanford offers superior water resistance, making it a dependable companion for both freshwater and inshore saltwater adventures.

Further refining its capabilities, the Vanford incorporates cutting-edge features like Infinity Cross and Infinity Drive for powerful reeling and extended gear life. The highly abrasion-resistant Duracross drag system boasts approximately 10 times the durability of previous Shimano models, ensuring reliable stopping power when you need it most. Newly equipped anti-twist fins minimise line issues, contributing to a smoother casting and retrieving experience, making the Vanford an ideal choice for modern lure fishing techniques.

• HAGANE Gear: Engineered with advanced cold-forging technology and precise 3D design, the HAGANE Gear delivers exceptional strength and durability, providing long-lasting smoothness and reliable performance under pressure.
• Magnum Light Rotor (MGL Rotor): Designed to minimise inertia, this lightweight rotor offers incredibly precise control over lure movement. It achieves approximately 39% lower inertia compared to rotors made of high-strength plastic, enhancing accuracy for lightweight lures and rapid retrieve patterns. It is also significantly lighter, about 34% lighter than the 23 Stradic's high-strength resin rotor.
• CI4+ Body and Rotor: Utilising Shimano's proprietary carbon fibre reinforced resin, the CI4+ body and rotor are both lightweight and highly rigid. This construction effectively reduces body distortion, safeguards the internal gear structure, and ensures consistently smooth rotation and reliable drag performance over time.
• X-Protect: This advanced water-resistant technology provides a labyrinth structure that prevents water intrusion, enhancing the reel's durability and longevity, particularly in challenging saltwater conditions.
• Duracross Drag System: Featuring highly abrasion-resistant material, this system significantly improves drag durability, offering approximately 10 times the resilience of previous Shimano models for consistent and powerful fish-stopping capabilities.
• Anti-Twist Fins: Newly integrated fins minimise line issues and tangles, ensuring a smoother and more enjoyable casting and retrieving experience.
• Newly Designed Bail Opening and Closing Mechanism: This mechanism ensures smooth bail operation with wide opening and closing angles, improving feathering and preventing unexpected bail closure during casting or retrieving.
• New Shape Line Clip: The redesigned line clip allows for easy line removal and offers improved holding power, accommodating a wide range of line types from 0.2 ester to 40 lb. fluorocarbon.

The Shimano Vanford spinning reel is a testament to advanced engineering, offering anglers a lightweight, sensitive, and exceptionally durable option for a wide array of fishing pursuits. Its comprehensive suite of innovative technologies ensures smooth operation, reliable drag performance, and enhanced control, making it a trusted choice for both finesse techniques and general lure fishing.
