Black Magic Equalizer Gimbal & Harness Set

For anglers targeting formidable game fish such as Broadbill Swordfish, Bluefin Tuna, or large Marlin, the Black Magic Equalizer Gimbal & Harness Set stands as a globally recognised, premier stand-up fishing system. Designed and manufactured in New Zealand, this innovative system provides a significant mechanical advantage, enabling sustained application of maximum drag pressure to powerful fish while drastically reducing angler fatigue and discomfort during prolonged battles.

The Equalizer system's revolutionary design centres on its unique harness. Moving beyond traditional kidney harnesses that can strain the lower back, this Black Magic harness features a padded structure that sits low across the upper thighs and buttocks. This strategic positioning effectively transfers the load to your powerful leg muscles, enhancing comfort and blood circulation. Free-running lug clips ensure the load is distributed evenly, maintaining balance and control even in challenging offshore conditions.

Complementing the harness is the robust Equalizer Gimbal. Constructed from specialised lightweight polymers and generously padded with high-density, closed-cell foam, it offers a broad, contoured contact area for comfortable pressure distribution across the thighs. Its deeply recessed pin and angled "V" shape intuitively guide the rod butt into the locking pin, allowing for instant, fumble-free engagement when a fish strikes. By lowering the angler's centre of gravity, this system provides superior leverage, essential for managing the most powerful ocean species.
