Anglers Mate Eel Fyke Net 4.3m 10mm Mesh

The Anglers Mate Eel Fyke Net is an essential tool for anglers targeting eels, offering an efficient and reliable method for a successful catch in various aquatic environments. Designed for outdoor and sporting enthusiasts, this robust net is ideal for both experienced fishers and those new to eel fishing.

Measuring 4.3 metres in length, this high-quality fyke net features five consecutively reducing hoops, a design proven to effectively guide eels into its chambers and prevent escape. Constructed for exceptional durability, the Anglers Mate Eel Fyke Net is built to withstand the rigours of regular use in diverse freshwater rivers and estuarine fishing environments. With its 10mm mesh size, this net is particularly suited for commercial fishing operations that hold appropriate permits and utilise escapement tubes, or for recreational use where local regulations permit or after modification to meet minimum mesh size requirements, such as the common 12mm recreational standard.

• Optimised Design: Features five consecutively reducing hoops that efficiently guide eels into the net, making escape difficult once inside.
• Robust Construction: Built with durable materials to ensure long-lasting performance and reliability in demanding freshwater and estuarine conditions.
• Versatile Placement: Easily position your fyke net in prime eel habitats, including near submerged logs, dense weed beds, under overhanging banks, or along riverbanks and estuary edges.
• Secure Deployment: Designed for secure anchoring with stakes or weights, preventing movement from currents and ensuring the net remains effective.
• Effortless Retrieval: Engineered for easy retrieval, allowing for regular checks and responsible management of your catch.
• Simple Maintenance: After each use, thoroughly clean the net to remove debris and rinse with fresh water. Allow it to dry completely in a shaded, well-ventilated area before storage to prevent mould and mildew. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and harsh chemicals to extend its lifespan.

Bronco's Outdoors advocates for responsible fishing practices and strict adherence to all local regulations when using eel nets. Before deploying your Anglers Mate Eel Fyke Net, it is crucial to understand and comply with all current fishing regulations and permit requirements for fyke nets in your specific area, as these are vital for sustainable fishing and can vary by region. For recreational eel fishing, many regulations specify a minimum mesh size of 12mm. The 10mm mesh size of this net means it is primarily suited for commercial use with the necessary permits and the required installation of at least two escapement tubes with an internal diameter greater than 31mm. If intended for recreational use, modification may be required to meet local mesh size standards. Always consult local authorities for specific guidelines on mesh size, daily bag limits (typically six eels per person), and other requirements to ensure compliance and support conservation efforts for eel populations.
